Tripura CM demands supports from Central Govt in 23 areas

AGARTALA, April 10 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has sought supports from the Central Govt in 23 areas. CM was delivering speech at NITI-Forum for Northeast's meeting at State Guest House in the presence of DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh.

The 23 areas where Tripura CM sought support are : 

1) Connectivity : Intra-regional as well as connectivity with the Asean region,  2) Improving quality and quantity of flights along with International Airport project,  3) A dedicated International Gateway, 4) BBIN : The Asean Highway (AH-48), which would be connecting Bhutan to Indo-Bangladesh border point, West Bengal.......it should also connect Tripura and help Bangladesh under BBIN agreement.  5) East-West Corridor, 6) Waterways, 7) Indo-Bangla initiatives especially in connectivity, 8) Land Customs, 9) Tourism, 10) The Tribal welfare Dept (Rs.285.30 crores have been demanded to develop TTADC areas), 11) Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), 12) Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY), 13) Flood management Programme, 14) River management activities, 15) Improvement of facilities in land custom stations (LCs), Border Haats, 16) Removal of restriction on export from Tripura to Bangladesh, 17) Creation of infrastructure in the counterpart land custom station of Bangladesh, 18) Land for border haats, 19) A proactive policy for recruitment of unemployed youths from the North East in Central Government services, autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, central parliamentary forces, 20) Employment under IT-sector, 21) Special support to start-ups in Northeast region is required in terms of entrepreneurship guidance, higher subsidy and marketing support, 22) Establishment of Institute of Art, Design and Fashion Technology for propagating the art and culture of local people may be considered by the centre, 23 ) Funding : 10 % allocation of fund to Northeastern states from central outlay is required to be mobilized at a part of 10 % GBS of non-exempted by Northeast states. Special central assistance and special plan assistance flowing through the erstwhile planning commission needs to be revived by NITI Aayog. Guidelines for Northeast special infrastructure should be made flexible to fund developmental project.
