AGARTALA, April 8 (TIWN): Above 60 lakhs of books have already sold in the ongoing Agartala Book Fair.
This is the 36th Book Fair of Agartala and everyday above 8 to 10 lakhs of books per average are being sold. Huge gatherings are also observed since the evening of the book fair.
This year the numbers of buyers are expectedly to go higher.
Agartala Book Fair which started from April 2, will be continued for 10 days.
Governor Tathagata Roy had inaugurated the book fair. Chief Minister Biplab Deb had taken special initiative to popularize the Book Fair.
Agartala book-fair is widely known and always are being participated by huge numbers of foreign businessmen. Along with the common people, various schools, colleges, institutes, libraries and academic centers also have assembled to buy books at Agartala Book Fair.
The first Agartala Book Fair held was held in 1981 and since then the scenario of publishing started to change very rapidly.
