TIWN April 1, 2018
AGARTALA, April 1 (TIWN): For implementation of 7th Pay Commission CM conducted a review meeting with retired CS of Assam P P Varma along with other members of the committee on Saturday evening. In the meeting it was said, yearly total amount of Rs.1459.51 core fund is required, which would benefit more than 2 lakh employees and pensioners. BJP Govt’s decision would ask from central govt around 7,297.55 crores of fund in each 5 years. In this condition, CPI-M Ex-Minister Badal Choudhury said, “We also calculated the same, but on that time fund sanctioning from central was totally impossible. We also calculated 7th Pay Commission for implementation under the CPI-M Govt. We thought within 900 crores the 7th pay commission can be implemented but the calculation came with a huge figure of Rs. 1400 crores, which was impossible on that time".
"So whatever we could, we gave to our employees. Now at Centre it's BJP Govt and in state also the same govt. Surprisingly, then also they are facing heavy troubles to manage the fund", he said.
Choudhury further said, "Don’t forget, BJP has forgotten its promise at Manipur. Now, the expert committee of BJP in Tripura will take 3 months for calculation and to complete the whole process it will take 6 months at least. However after 6 months also, if the Govt can implement 7th pay commission, we are happy".
