AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): BJP MLA Ratan Chakraborty today claimed, many of the Tripura Police officials are still involved with CPI-M. “CPI-M is unable to understand that they are no more in power and few of the police officials are still busy to help them. Whereas the whole state is suffering from drugs, phensedyls attacks upon young generation, a section police officials are helping CPI-M to continue such illegal activitiesâ€, said Ratan Chakraborty further referring Bishalgarh incident. On the other side, CPI-M has alleged BJP is attacking CPI-M since they had a rally against unemployment problems at Bishalgarh, After Minister Bhanu Lal Saha brought the allegation, another BJP leader Pratima Bhowmik said, “In CPI-M’s rally more than flags they were carrying rods. So, we had to gherao themâ€.On the other side, two police officials of Sonamura were suspended on yesterday night for negligence in duty and their alleged involvement in corruption.
A source said, the two officials on March 26 were also found involved in cattle smuggling related profit. Apart from that recently police recovered 7700 phensedyl bottles at Sonamura, but the officials didn't deliver the bottles according to the estimated stocks.
"We want to create a Tripura which will be addiction-free, drug-free and govt has to take action against it. Following the reports in the our state committee meeting, we have found very unholy signal, which is killing Tripura's law and order. In the last 25 years of regime, CPI-M have attacked the young generation with drugs and the leaders themselves are involved in those activities", he said.
However, today BJP was to hold rallies across Tripura demanding immediate arrest of Bhanu Lal Saha but due to rain it was halted.
