AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): After Tripura Assembly Election result, TIWN was first to raise the issue of deprivation done to the Asst Professor job aspirants of state Tripura in CPI-M era. After that one leading Bengali daily also highlighted the issue, but today the unemployed youths once again came before media and the data delivered by them was shocking. It has been said that after 2007 no vacant post was created in Colleges, whereas till 2017 the number of Colleges increased from 12 to 22. According to UGC rule, class rooms should have teachers-students ratio as 1 : 30, whereas presently in Tripura the ratio stands 1 : 99, but the previous govt didn't appoint a single Asst Professor since 11 years.

Today the number of unemployed persons are at least 700 and sadly few already have become overage.

The persons who dedicated their lives for High Education with NET, P.hD, are bound to come in protest for their rights. Manik Sarkar led CPI-M’s 25 years stint marred with organized corruption in every sector. At least 10 degree colleges from 2007 to 2017 under CPI-M Govt were opened  in Tripura but these empty buildings left without any Quality education inside them.

The deprived NET, SLET, P.hD holders are hoping that the new govt will take some initiative to solve their problems.

In a press conference, "Tripura NET/SLET/P.hD forum" members said, "Earlier, many times we have protested, raised our demands. Deputation was placed in the SC/ST Welfare Dept. Our sole aim was to create vacant posts for state's colleges".

"Since 11 years, there was no recruitment as the vacancy was not created. But our demands were never taken seriously. Now we hope that the new govt will take some initiative and immediately will fill up the vacant posts", they said.

"After 2007 no vacant post was created. Surprisingly, on that time the number of Colleges were 12. In 12 Colleges the 661 vacant posts were necessary, but right now the number should be double at least, whereas the Asst Professors are 475 right now", they mentioned.

Urging the newly formed govt they said, "Many among us are waiting, many have been overage. We are hopeful that the govt will look into the matter and take immediate action to help job aspirants, as well as the college students".
