AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): SP West Abhijit Saptarshi today after police’s successful drive against fake facebook users asked the citizens to exercise proper care while using social media.

“Concerns were raised over use of photo of Chief Minister of Tripura on social media for running profile and sharing various political / sensitive posts. One Wednesday a specific case were registered vide NCC PS No. 27 / 18 Section 66D of The Information Technology Act, 2000 against a profile Hossain Kamal using picture of CM and sharing information”, SP said.

“Police team swiftly investigated the matter further and identified the owner of the profile as one Hossain Anwar of Umrain, PS Sonamura. He isa driver by profession and works in gulf countries”, SP said.

“Today a joint team of West and Sepahijala Dist arrested Hossain from Urmai. He will be brought to Agartala and questioned about the matter. Police will try to ascertain any illegal activity that may have been possibly been done using this profile. Hossain will be produced before the Ld. Court tomorrow”, SP said.

“Police advises citizens to exercise proper care while using social media”, he said.
