SABROOM / AGARTALA, March 29 (TIWN): 2015's CPI-M led attack incident upon Sabroom Magistrate Sourabh Saha which was considered as a 'Black day of Democracy' in Tripura has finally met justice as 4 of the accused were convicted today.
All of them has been sent to suffer 3 years of imprisonment.
The four accused persons are : Bijay Dey, Biswajit Ghosh, Abhijit Dey and Abhik Basak. Along with 3 years of jail Rs. 10000 were fined to each of the culprit.
On Sept 2, 2015 during CPI-M's strike Magistrate Saurabh Saha alongwith two other employees and a bank clerk was on the way to the court when the CPI-M picketers blocked him entering court.
Finally with Police escorted Judge Saurabh Saha entered Court. After a while, when Saha began his work, CPI-M goons thronged into his office and broke the doors and windows alongwith benches and beaten up Judge.
The then Chief Justice Deepak Gupta on that time said, “Attack on judges is very dangerous for Democracy”.
