AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): Tripura Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma has placed the report of MGNREGA audit of Tripura Govt before media, after the same audit was placed before the Assembly today.

While placing the report in the evening, addressing the media persons, Jishnu Debbarma said, "According High Court's order in 2017, December 7 the audit report was placed in the High Court. According to High Court's order the following steps need to be taken :

1) To send the report to Centre,

2) To send the report to Central RD Dept,

3) The audit report should be placed before Assembly,

4) Audit report to be uploaded in the Govt Website".

"We have taken the first 3 steps and the fourth will be done soon", said the Finance Minister.

"There was heavy irregularities, cited in the audit report led the Central Govt to slash the fund for Tripura MGNREGA", he said.

The Finance Minister also pointed out year-wise audit reports.

"From 2006 to 2016, the Tripura govt couldn't give proper voucher for total Rs. 140 crores. At Bishalgarh RD Block around Rs. 16 crores of fund expenditure has come under irregularities. In the same manner all the blocks under various districts have been suffered from such irregularities. So, question is, how the Center would send further fund ?", Jishnu Debbarma said.

"It's easy to say that Modi Govt doesn't give, but what have they done, who will answer for that ?", the Minister said.
