AGARTALA, March 28 (TIWN): After IPFT leader Brisaketu Debbarma on the last day of Tripura Assembly had called CPI-M as “Sinners, who did nothing for tribals on hillsâ€, CPI-M MLA Bhanu Lal Saha said, “We are accepting your allegations that we are sinners and that’s why people have rejected us. But, if we are sinners, please give us a chance for repent and penance. Don’t snatch out party offices and don’t force our people to resign from Panchayat and Municipal officesâ€. “You are mentioning we are sinners. If we are sinners, give us place in your state to penance our sins. If we can’t continue our rallies and works then how will we survive as the opposition in the state ?â€, said Saha. The issue was raised by IPFT leader Brisaketu Debbarma, when there was a talk about Pradhan Mantri Awash Yojna’s expansion on hills. The IPFT leader while passing arguments called CPI-M as 'Sinners' for depriving tribals on hills. The IPFT leader said, “Before few days CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that tribals generally prefer to drink stream’s water.
My question is, if years after years a person is feed with unpurified, why suddenly s/he can drink filtered water ? If whole life, if a person is vegetarian, can suddenly s/he eat meat ? It will create digestion-problem. Same happened with our people. The leader also asked the Chief Minister Biplab Deb how he will create buildings for tribals on hills as following the 25 years, the water supply system has been not expanded, nothing is there. “We are now giving prices of CPI-M’s sins”, the IPFT leader said.
CPI-M MLA Bhanu Lal Saha after that told Chief Minister Biplab Deb, “I am taking his words that CPI-M is sinner, but don’t allow anybody to seize or attack our party offices so that we can exist for our penances. Over 100 of CPI-M party offices were burnt and vandalized”.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb said, “Govt is for all and law is in its own action”.
The CPI-M MLA also mentioned, it’s true that in hilly areas PMAY’s implementation is tough due to lack of water resources, CPI-M Govt has also experienced it.
BJP Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma replied, “As Bhanu Lal Saha is a senior leader, I am taking his experience seriously. Now it’s to be seen how BJP Govt will build houses on hills, amid such a water crisis”.
