AGARTALA, March 27 (TIWN): Lenin also made a place in Tripura Assembly Day-3 as Ex CPI-M Minister Tapan Chakraborty raised the issue of pulling down of Lenin’s statue at Belonia on March 5.
“In which democracy it happens that after a party wins, old statues are bulldozed?”, said Tapan Chakraborty.
In reply, BJP MLA Arun Kanti Bhowmik said, “Better you start reading Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar’s small books and put better statues here, rather than foreigners”.
Noteworthy, the statue of Lenin was pulled down on March 5. The mob wearing BJP's attires were screaming "Bharat Mata Ki Jay" while pulling down the statue of Lenin.
