Saffron victory at Charilam : BJP bags total 36 Assembly seats as Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma wins the Election

AGARTALA, March 15 (TIWN): BJP has secured 36 Assembly seats in Northeast state Tripura as the Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma has won at his Charilam constituency. Earlier BJP had 35 MLAs but with Jishnu Debbarma’s winning at Charilam constituency, now the party has a total 36 seats out of 60 MLA seats. According to the latest information, BJP has gained 2550 votes. The voting percentage in favour of BJP has been termed as record breaking voting percentage in the Assembly Election. Whereas BJP and Congress representatives were present today in the counting hall, from the CPI-M nobody was present as they had already withdrawn the candidate's name at that constituency.

In total 12 counting halls the counting were conducted. The counting began from started from morning 8 am and in the first round of counting BJP got 7663 votes at there, but with the last report the BJP candidate Jishnu Debbarma has scored with a record breaking voting percentage. 

Chief Electoral Officer Sriram Taranikanti said, "80.79 % voting was done at the Charilam constituency. Total 29750 voters have cast their votes at Charilam and the result will be given on March 15. Till now including the postal ballot and Charilam constituency, the voting percentage has gone at 91.5 % across 60 constituencies. Soon, the total will be known. 80.79 % voting was done at the Charilam constituency'', said CEO ahead of the election.  

Jishnu Debbarma (Deputy CM) has taken charges of these departments : 1) Power Dept, 2) Finance Dept, 3) Rural Development Dept.
