AGARTALA, August 30 (TIWN): Absence of Officers and clerks every now and then from offices became work culture of government offices- Forest, Horticulture, ARD, RD and TSECL at Longtrai valley.

Blank tables and chairs are visible at offices from morning to afternoon. Although vacant chairs fill up at late hours, all leave the office after tiffin hours. None come back at the offices after tiffin hours before suspension of office.

 No staff is exception of this culture whether he is near far from the office. However, one or two staffs are very much responsible to perform duties of the office.

Sources said that few more district level offices are at sub division Sadar. The offices are Forest, Horticulture, ARD, RD and TSECL departments are connected with urgent services. Irrigation, drinking water and sanitation departments are also not exception.

Sources further revealed that one Gazetted Officer of a department is rarely available in the office while such a higher officer is supposed to stay at the office always. The officer stays at house during working hours. He attends office according to his wish. Again he goes back to house after staying one or two hours. He possesses important responsibility of the department. The office goes on by name of almighty.

The officer goes to house by burning the fuel of government vehicle. The lower graded staffs also have condition. Some of them feel ashamed to sit chair. They say no if any responsibility given to them. Questions were raised who will take the responsibility to prevent the downfall of work culture?
