SANTIRBAZAR, South Tripura, August 30 (TIWN): TRIPURAINFOWAY.com news on irregularities in the Rehabilitation Vocational Training Centre for surrendered militants in Lachi under Santir Bazar subdivision once again turned the administration towards right steps. On 21st August , news published in TRIPURAINFOWAY.com on this issue. It is to be mentioned here that the vocational rehabilitation centre was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and he himself used to visit the camp supervising the training programme. An NGO was in charge to look after the regular affairs of the camp. Training on computer, tailoring and other vocations were scheduled to be given those tribal youths who came back to the main stream of life leaving the wrong paths of lifeof militancy.
But during the last few months neither NGO nor district administration was taking any care after them. Being annoyed with the attitude of the administration they threatened to return to the dark path of terrorism. However, TIWN came to know about this and immediately published news on this issue highlighting the problems on August 21. On Monday, August 25 SDM Shantirbazar Uttam Kumar Mandal and DCM D Debbarma visited the camp and found that the entire camp lacks hygiene, amenities. Even no training is being provided to the youths. The trainees complained to the officials about the total mismanagement . Meanwhile the officials assured the youths that they will send detailed reports to the DM SOUTH and soon actions will be taken to remove all the injustice. TRIPURAINFOWAY.com is happy to learn that govt officials take heed to the news and at least some steps have been taken so that surrended militants donot go back to militancy again.
