‘CPI-M's role as strong Opposition Party to start after BJP’s Cabinet formation’ : CPI-M

AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Even though nationwide protests are going on by Leninists, but in Tripura the Communists are not coming forward with protest against the Lenin statue pulling down incident. Replying media questions, whether CPI-M activists are afraid to come out, leader Pabitra Kar said, “We are not afraid, but the situation is not well across Tripura. There is no administration at all. Immediately after the cabinet is formed, CPI-M will come out in massive protests. Right now we are waiting for the cabinet formation of the BJP Govt”.Pabitra Kar further said that CPI-M is already protesting across the nation and whole world is also knowing the RSS and BJP led ruling's nature. "Right now apart from Section-144 the situation is not going right for us to organize protests inside state. But across the country protests are going on. Let the nation know about BJP's ongoing attacks and as soon as the Cabinet is formed, CPI-M will come in massive protest. Right now, we are avoiding protests till the Govt is formed".

"We will surely restore the Lenin's statue. Today at Sabroom also another statue of Lenin was bulldozed. We will not sitting silent and keep on tolerating. Soon, CPI-M will come in massive protest", said Pabitra Kar.

 Sitaram Yechury terming the attacks by the BJP-RSS and the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) anti-democratic and fascist, CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said his party will take up the challenge.
"So far there have been individual torture of 514 of our workers. A total of 1,539 houses have been attacked, 196 houses of our praty comrades and leaders have been set on fire, 134 party offices have been attacked with 64 completely destroyed. In addition, 204 party offices have been occupied by the RSS and BJP," Yechuri told reporters here.

On the other side, BJP claimed that no BJP activist was ever involved in violence after the counting session in Tripura, but CPI-M in BJP attires are now engaged in violence and some of them attacked BJP activists too.

BJP spokesperson Mrinal Kanti Deb said, “Nobody is occupying any CPI-M Office. Rather motor syndicate rescued by common labourers. As far as the post poll attack is concerned, suddenly bunch of CPI-M activists, almost in every corner of the state , are being converted into BJP in order to create law and order problem”.
