AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): Following IPFT led violence in Mandai Bazar and attacks upon CPI-M’s party offices, Lenin statue, Tripura’s incumbent MP Jiten Chowdhury said, “Not only in Mandai Bazar, but in other places also, few groups are destroying peace, disturbing the mainstream of live. The winner party must come forward and take liabilities. It’s time of BJP to fulfill their promises of Cholo-Paltai because before the election they promised so…..â€. “Their cholo-palitai’s face should not be like that and we want to see thatâ€, added Chowdhury.Jiten Chowdhury has also alleged that the IPFT supporters have burnt nontribal people's shops at Mandai of West District on yesterday, which has been confirmed by SP West. SP West Abhijit Saptarshi said, “Around 15 shops were burnt today by some IPFT activists during a market day, led police to throw tear gas. 3 persons from IPFT were arrested and now the situation is totally under controlâ€.
"Today at around 3 PM at Mandai 400-500 IPFT activists went to attack the party office of CPI-M. Near to the party office, few shops of non-tribal people were totally burnt. All of them were not CPI-M supporters, but IPFTs have burnt BJP supporters' shops too. SP and DM have rushed to the spot", said Jiten Chowdhury. Chowdhury further alleged that BJP, IPFT have begged mercies today from the administration after IPFT people circulated slips to the Bodhjungnagar businessmen, threatening them to give IPFT hefty amounts of money.
