AGARTALA, March 3 (TIWN): Till now, BJP-IPFT are battling the election results with 40 seats, Left 19 seats , Congress 0 seat. However in this news, now only 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of countings are going on and the reports are changing. After the 1st round result out BJP is leading the poll-results. Tensions are rising at high and across households citizens have sat before the TV and checking online news updates. Strict securities under central forces are in action and 100 metres of the counting centres to be kept under Section-144. Umakanta Academy is holding the highest number of counting halls with 14 constituencies. Now, state is eyeing for vote-counting results of Tripura Assembly Election, which will be declared by today.

Today is the most crucial day for the state to know whether the saffron party can defeat the secularists, who have been ruling this hilly states since 25 years without a pause.

After BJP had formed its Govt in Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, now rest of the country is eyeing for 3 more poll bound Northeast States : Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya.

 The Congress is in power in Meghalaya, the Left Front is running Tripura and the Naga People's Front in alliance with the BJP is in charge in Nagaland. 

Noteworthy, in Nagaland, BJP has joined hands with the NDPP that was floated by former chief minister Neiphiu Rio. The NDPP is contesting on 40 seats and the saffron party on 20.

BJP, having already formed governments in Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, is making a bid to expand its footprints in the region.

According to exit polls, BJP could wrest Tripura from the ruling Left front government.
