AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): Election Commission is leaving no lapses in the security arrangements and already daises have been set to put restrictions across 20 locations for the counting. Section 144 to be imposed from the midnight itself. In maximum centres across 100 meters the security to be tightened whereas in sensitive places the area has been measured with 200 meters.The Central Forces will be controlling the safety issues throughout the counting day in Tripura on March 3rd. Whereas at the upper-layer or outer-layer Tripura Police, TSR will be helping the Central security forces but the middle and inner layers will be totally controlled by central forces. There will be 3 layers of securities : Outer layers which will be controlled by Central forces, but helped by state police and TSR. The middle layer and the inner layer will be purely handled by central forces. CEO Sriram Taranikanti on yesterday evening had announced that no political party agent can enter in political attire inside the counting halls or centre. Election Commission and the Political parties have urged the state to keep the peace active.
The toll free number 15103 will remain open for the common people via which they can register their complaints in case of any untoward incident during the poll hours. The helpline will remain active 24 X 7 to help the voters, which will be helpful also for police to maintain the law and order.
Tripura election was held on February 18 followed by a set of re-polling on February 26. The counting is scheduled to be conducted on tomorrow. There are 59 counting halls and 20 locations kept for counting.
CPI-M appealing the counting agents said, "Along with being courageous, be also responsible. There should not be any indisciplinary activity. We may lose in any constituency but it doesn't mean you will forget your responsibilities. Also don't care about other constituencies and do your own duty". On the other side, BJP also has warned its all activists to avoid all unnecessary issues and outside the counting halls as well all kinds of violence should be avoided and if anybody is found in violence then strict actions to be taken against that person.
