AGARTALA, Aug 29 (TIWN): Highlighting the 3-day long Neermahal Tourism Festival scheduled to start here from Sep 01, a press conference was held today in the conference hall of Sagarmahal at 4 pm.

The Information Officer of Sepahijala district Chandan Sarkar, Chairperson of Melaghar Municipal Council Anima Malla Barman and Secretary of Rudrasagar Cooperative Society Satyaban Das remained present there in the press meet.

Minister for Tourism Ratan Bhowmik will inaugurate the 3-day long programme. The festival includes competition on Manasha Mangal, swimming and boat race. The 3-day long festival is going to be organized with the joint initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation in accordance with Rudrasagar Fisherman Co-operative Society, Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sepahijala District Administration along with other departments.

 Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Shahid Chowdhury will grace the programme with his esteemed presence as Chief Guest. Besides, officials from ICAT department, MLA of Sonamura and Nalchar Assemly Shyamal Chakraborty and Tapan Das along with the President of Tripura Swimming Association Subal Rudra will remain present there in the programme. Rudrasagar Fisherman Co-operative Society Secretary Satyaban Das would preside over the inaugural programme. The tourism festival aims to develop Neermahal more eye-catching towards tourists in and across the country.
