Tripura's re-polls begin today at 7 AM : Meghalaya, Nagaland's Assembly Election tomorrow

AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): A very crucial day for Northeast as 3 of its states' voters are shaping the fortunes of Political Parties for the next 5 years. Tripura's re-polls across 6 polling stations have been started already since 7 AM amidst tight security. As the Election Commission is making the voting this time as 100% transparent so the re-polling has been announced for Tripura including Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's Dhanpur constituency. Tripura is undergoing another fresh polling session whereas on the next day crucial Assembly Elections to be conducted on tomorrow at Nagaland and Manipur, whereas the poll results are on March 3rd, the same date for Tripura Election result too. Securities have been tightened in Tripura too and section 144 have been imposed in 6 polling areas in Tripura. Currently, the Congress is in power in Meghalaya, the Left Front in Tripura and the Nagaland People's Front (NPF) in Nagaland.

The 6 polling centres where the election is being held today, EC has kept strict observations. The 6 poll-stations are : 22-Sonamura, 23-Dhanpur, 28-Teliamura, 40-Sabroom,41-Ampinagar, 54-Kadamtala-Kurti, where the election commission has ordered re-polling.

Election Commission Secretary Arvind Anand ordered to conduct re-polls in 6 poll-stations of 6 constituencies of Tripura.

The CEO in Tripura has also confirmed 100 % webcasting of the polls. Since 7 PM the vote casting have been started with peaceful environment and webcasting has also remained successful.
