SABROOM, Feb 25 (TIWN): Section 144 imposed at Re Polled Polling Station area under Sabroom Sub Division of South Tripura District. Hence, as per the power conferred upon me U/S 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code 1973, I, Sri C.K. Jamatia, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector (District Election Officer) South Tripura District, Belonia do hereby pass order to prohibit any kind of assembly consisting of five or more persons with or without weapon or weapons like objects such as lathi, sticks, iron rod, bamboos, stone or any objects which may be used as weapons of offence and also hereby prohibit holding of any public meeting, rally, gathering, public address with or without use of loud speakers etc, anywhere within the limit of South Tripura District including that of the 200 meters periphery of any polling stations. Also I do hereby prohibit two or more Nos. of Motor Bikes or motor cars moving together in any area which also amounts to a sort of illegal assembly.

This order shall not be applicable to:

1.     Polling Personnel, CAPF, Police on election duty or their vehicles, or any other persons such as media persons with valid ECI Passes, drivers and cleaners etc or vehicles engaged in the election duty,

2.     For the voters having valid identity cards as prescribed by the Election Commission of India, coming for voting to the Polling stations either on foot or in their own vehicles & standing in the voters queues inside the premises of Polling Stations in disciplined manner.

3.     For the voters having valid identity cards as prescribed by the Election Commission of India and taking their personal vehicles with only the family members outside the periphery of 200 meters of Polling Stations for voting purpose at the Polling Stations but not carrying any other voters apart from the family members.

4.     Government servants or Police/CAPF/Armed force on routine Government duty.

5.     Gathering for educational purposes at various educational Institutions during the day time.

6.     Routine functioning of Government or Private Offices.

7.     Normal Passengers or vehicular transport provided that the transport vehicles should not carry / transport the voters for voting

8.     Normal religious gatherings at the time of prayers in the religious places or places of worship or social functions such as marriage, birthday ceremony etc provided that no any kind of distribution of cash or kind to anybody will be done in such function/ ceremony.

9.     Normal business and transactions in all the markets and mandis except that of any gathering of Political or criminal nature.

10.   Motor cars of Candidates duly approved by the Returning Officers or any other motor cars duly permitted by the Competent Election Authority.

This order shall be valid from 4:00 PM of 16/02/2018 till midnight of 19/02/2018. Whoever violates this order shall be punishable u/s 188 of Indian Penal Code.

Due to emergent nature of the situation, this order has been issued ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general.
