AGARTALA, August 28 (TIWN): A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) decided that the monsoon session of state legislative assembly would have four business days this year, a highly placed source in the state administration said.The BAC meeting held at the civil secretariat on Tuesday concluded that the forthcoming assembly session would start from August 29 and continue till September 03. The House would be adjourned on Saturday and Sunday in between.A separate source in the government said that around 920 questions were submitted by members of the treasure and opposition benches for the monsoon session of assembly.
The Congress legislative party headed by leader of opposition Sudip Roy Barman is reported to be meeting on August 28 to decide the party’s strategy in the assembly session.
Former opposition leader Ratan Lal Nath was learnt to have submitted 120 questions alone – the highest from any single member of the House for the upcoming session.
The House is learnt to table two bills including a bill for regulating three wheeler vehicles like rickshaws or battery operated tomtoms.
Sources said that the government is eyeing to increase entertainment and luxury taxes. The move came after the only cinema hall of Tripura started operation after a lull of nearby one and a half decade.
