AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): Tripura Police's failure again caused chaos on busy National Highway. Massive traffic jams over Agartala-Bishalgarh National Highway led mass suffering on Wednesday since the morning. The jam was emerged from an accident on the National Highway which took place in the night hours. As per the local sources, a driver in drunken condition losing control turned the truck on the road on yesterday night and since then no attempt was taken to recover the situation. The incident took place exactly in front of Arkaneer, which led traffic jam in office hours covering Amtali till Bishalgarh. But most surprisingly, even after such massive traffic jams, Traffic police's role was zero . Lack of traffic police left the jam without any management for hours on the National Highway, triggered mass resentment. Professors, students had to walk above 1 KM to reach the University.
After few hours at around 12 PM hardly 5 to 6 police were seen, standing in paralyzed condition. Lack of seriousness was alleged by each passengers travelling on that route. One passenger said, "This is nothing but administration's total failure, who can't take the National Highway like important routes seriously".
Above thousands of vehicles were seen standing in long queues at there,
The passengers alleged that such jams are occurring often on the but due to failure of the traffic dept passengers agonies have no end.
The ongoing double lane works are also causing jams over the road, whereas police dept are least bothered about such problem.
Ambulances remained immovable for hours due to such a condition of the road.
