PM to flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains in UP today

New Delhi, July 7 (TIWN): Friday is a momentous occasion for the residents of Uttar Pradesh, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two Vande Bharat Express trains in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel will welcome PM Modi, who will also lay the foundation stone of Gorakhpur railway station remodeling project.
As per the itinerary, PM Modi will be at Gita Press for the programme from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. During the programme, he will visit Lila Chitra temple and will have a photo session with the press trustees. He will also address people and inaugurate Shiv Puran on the occasion, said Gita Press manager Lalmani Tripathi.The opening ceremony of the centenary celebration was inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind, he added.
Later in the day, PM Modi will flag off the North Eastern Railway's semi high-speed Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat train from the platform-1 of Gorakhpur railway station tentatively at 3.40pm. He will also flag off Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express through video conferencing on the occasion, said NER CPRO Pankaj Kumar Singh. Gorakhpur railway station has the second longest platform in the world. Following inauguration, the Vande Bharat train will start from Gorakhpur railway station and reach Lucknow junction. It will halt at Sahjanwa, Khalilabad, Basti, Babhnan, Mankapur, Ayodhaya and Barabanki railway stations.
