Jaipur, June 22 : Member of Rajya Sabha from Bharatiya Janata Party, Kirodi Lal Meena, was detained on June 22 after two days of his dharna demanding registration of a First Information Report in the alleged Jal Jeevan Mission scam.
Police took him to the Chaksu police station where Kirodi’s supporters created a ruckus outside. His supporters raised slogans against the Gehlot government.
Earlier in the morning, as soon as Meena moved away for some time from the dharna site, the police removed the tents, vehicles and barricaded the site. At the same time, a large number of police force was deployed outside Ashok Nagar police station.
As soon as Meena returned to the protest site, the police stopped him, following which he sat on the road. While the police tried to explain to him, he remained adamant on getting his FIR registered. Then the police officers forcibly took him into custody.
