May 8 : The Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) of Goa has seized drugs valued at Rs 8.5 lakh and arrested one foreign national.
In both cases, the crime branch had received reliable information.Police laid a trap to arrest the accused.
In the first case, police said that Manish Seth, 26, from Uttar Pradesh was arrested at Verna after he was found in illegal possession of a bag containing a greenish leafy substance suspected to be ganja. The seized drug weighed 3.7kg and is worth Rs 3.7 lakh approximately.
In the second case, Rahul Mishra, 23, from Uttarakhand was also found in possession of a bag containing a similar greenish leafy substance suspected to be ganja. In this case, the seized drug weighed 4.8 kg and is worth Rs 4.8 approximately. Mishra was apprehended in Margao.
