New Delhi, Oct 18 (TIWN) After Navjot Singh Sidhu wrote to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and asked for personal audience to raise issues with the party regarding the fulfilment of poll promises, the Congress is working on plan B to check Sidhu and devise strategy that party should look united ahead of the polls.

AICC general secretary in-charge Harish Rawat, present at the meeting, later told journalists that Gandhi was keen on the PCC chief and the CM working as a team to ensure that Congress repeats its victory in the assembly polls. “Sonia Ji wants both the state government and the PCC to work together and not at cross purpose,” Rawat said. Singh’s office, meanwhile, tweeted the CM met Gandhi to discuss various issues related to the state and he “spent an extremely satisfying one hour with her”. Soon after the CM arrived in Delhi, many supporters, including Punjab Congress MPs, met him.
