AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): A protest was held at the new stand in Rajnagar area demanding to reduce petrol prices but sudden attack on CPIM’s activists broke out the program.
However, CPIM-BJP both sides activist injured in the clash. Counter allegations are being made by both the parties.
On one hand BJP has alleged that the CPIM had attacked on the Rajnagar relief distribution program. On the other hand, the CPIM alleged that during the program at the Rajnagar Syndicate to protest against the increase in the price of petrol and diesel, the miscreants of the BJP suddenly attacked on them.
In this clash almost 6 BJP activists were injured.
After the CPIM made counter attack on BJP activists, the clashes escalated into retaliation. During the clash, BJP workers hit MLA Sudhan Das on the head causing him to bleed. Sudhan Das's younger brother Bhajan Das was also injured in leg. MLA, Sudhan Das's driver Bablu Sur and two securities were received injuries. Almost 7-8 injured CPIM members were taken to Udaipur Gomati District Hospital for treatment. Huge TSR forces including police rushed at the scene and brought the situation under control. But, CPIM leader alleged Police did not play neutral role. However, tension has erupted centering the political clash in Rajnagar area.
