AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): 18-year-old housewife attempted suicide by setting herself on fire. The incident took place in Khupilang area of Udaipur sub-division on Monday.
The housewife Fatema Begum, 18 years old, set herself on fire. After witnessing the incident, her family members started shouting and informed the fire station, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the burnt Fatema Begum and brought her to Gomti District Hospital.
Meanwhile, 80% of the housewife’s body was burnt and she was referred to GB Hospital for better treatment after receiving first aid at Gomti District Hospital on the same day.
It is known that she was married in Gokulpur area but most of the time she stays at her father's house. However, the mother of the burnt Fatema Begum told reporters at the hospital that everyone in her father-in-law's house is good and nobody knows why she took the drastic step at her father’s house.
