New Delhi, June 20 (TIWN) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs one crore each to the families of six persons, who were residents of Delhi, and were killed while performing their duty.
Announcing the ex-gratia amount, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "To honour our personnel who risked their lives to protect and serve the nation, Delhi Government has announced disbursal of ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore to families of 6 personnel who passed away while performing their duties. The decision to support the families was taken at today's (Saturday) meeting." Martyrs whose families will be given ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore are: Sanket Kaushik - (ACP) Delhi Police who lost his life while performing duty at Rajokri Flyover in Delhi. A truck hit him while he was checking vehicles around the area and he died on the spot.
