Tripura Scheduled Caste Coordinating Committee Placed a deputation to the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department with 11-point demand

AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): On behalf of the Tripura Scheduled Caste Coordinating Committee, a 4-member delegation to the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department made a deputation with some demands.

Their demands include:           ·         

During the corona curfew, every worker's family has to pay at least Rs 7,500 per month in cash and 10 kg of rice per head free of cost.   The central government should provide free COVID vaccines to every person in the country.  To fill all vacancies in all government and semi-government departments. Daily wagers should be helped with the necessary tools and instruments to help them carry out their work. Irregular cleaning workers need to be regularized immediately. Relugar workers should be paid Rs. 600 per day. To release stipend for SC/ST students. Scheduled Caste Unemployed Youth to be provided the loan on easy terms from SC Corporation. The loan amount should be increased to Rs. 1 lakh. To increase the daily wage of MGM Rega and to arrange 200 days of work for them. People holding fake SC certificates to grab facilities should be held soon via investigation.

The central and state government budgets should be allocated in proportion to the population To add a seat in the Lok Sabha Assembly for the Scheduled Caste Committee    Raising the demands, MLA Sudhan Das said,” Despite having several MLAs, the Chief Minister is holding numerous departments due to which he gets no time to listen to the common people’s problems. In the history of Tripura this is the first time no minister has been appointed for the welfare of the scheduled caste community and we immediately demand him to add a seat in the Lok Sabha and elect a minister.”
