Srinagar, Nov 18 (TIWN) A soldier was killed and two were injured when an avalanche hit their post on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.

An Army jawan was killed and two others were injured after an avalanche hit a frontier post in Tanghdar Sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Wednesday.  Preliminary reports suggest that the snow sheet hit the Roshan post approximately around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. 

“Three soldiers were swept away. They were immediately rescued and shifted to a hospital. One died in the hospital,” officials said.  The Army has not identified the deceased and injured soldiers so far.
