Lucknow, July 2 (TIWN) Former union minister and senior BJP leader, Uma Bharti, on Thursday, appeared before a special CBI court here to record her statement in Babri mosque demolition case.
Bharati is accused of inciting the mob to demolish the mosque. The special CBI Court at Kaiserbagh resumed the trial today. It was sealed on June 29 after a local lawyer was found positive for Covid-19. After Bharati, the Court is all set to record the statements of BJP bigwigs including former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani via video conferencing. Others include M M Joshi, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.
On June 29, Sadhvi Rithambara was questioned by the special CBI court over her alleged involvement in the demolition of the mosque. ET on June 26 reported that over one and a month after and repeated reminders, the video conferencing apparatus sought by the special CBI Court, Lucknow conducting day-to-day trial of Babri Masjid demolition was finally installed.
