Chances of COVID19 transmission in community level is very low as people are aware: CM

AGARTALA, June 1: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said there is low possibility of transmission of novel coronavirus in community level since people are properly maintaining social distancing norms and other guidelines as prescribed by the Government.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing a press conference at his official residence on Monday.
“People are aware about the preventive measures to prevent spread of COVID19 even in the village level. The best part remains that the people are spontaneously obeying social distancing, quarantine norms and other guidelines,” the Chief Minister told Media.
He also said that report of the central team that visited Tripura recently to find out the reason behind surge in positive cases among the BSF personnel, indicated that there was negligence in the part of BSF in obeying social distancing and quarantine procedures. The report has already been sent to Centre, he said adding that a commandant of infected battalion had been transferred.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister also said that there is no dearth of infrastructure to deal with the COVID situation.
“Around 14,000 people, who were stranded in other parts of the country due to lock down, have already returned and many others have registered for returning home state. 
“The state government is taking initiatives so that COVID19 tests of all returnees can be conducted,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also highlighted the important achievements of the central government referring to the first anniversary of the Modi government’s second term. 
He also said, Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan in the first term of government and Atal Jaldhara Mission in the second term so far are the key initiatives of the Prime Minister.
Besides, the Chief Minister also highlighted the achievements of the Modi government in various fields including increase in rail connectivity, electrification, direct flights to the North-East, establishment of river ports, historic agreement on the use of Chittagong port. The Chief Minister said he believes that the country will move forward on the path of development under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the coming days.
