New Delhi, Oct 3 (TIWN) Three days after the Delhi High Court dismissed his bail plea, former Finance minister P. Chidambaram on Thursday approached the Supreme Court seeking an early hearing on his bail plea in the INX media case.
Opposing the interim bail plea of Chidambaram, which the SC is scheduled to hear on Tuesday afternoon, the CBI said the due process should have been followed with the Congress leader approaching the High Court first. "If the Supreme Court hears Chidambaram's petition, then every accused will start challenging the trial court’s order in the top court," CBI said in a report to the SC while adding that the SC hearing Chidambaram’s interim bail plea will set a wrong precedent.
