Rains clobber Mumbai, NDRF rescues 1,300 people

Mumbai, Sep 4 (TIWN) Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and the entire coastal Konkan region on Wednesday, with waterlogging reported from many areas and authorities advising people to remain indoors.
The NDRF and local police have been carrying out rescue and relief operations across the state after days of continuous rain. On Tuesday, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted light to moderate rains for Mumbai, and heavy rains in isolated places in adjoining Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts.
