Imphal, Dec 8 (TIWN / IANS) A former member of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), who had laid down arms last year, was gunned down in Manipur here early on Saturday, police said.
S. Modhuchandra, 44, was killed at 6.30 a.m., when he was out for a morning walk near his house. His body was riddled with bullets. The assailants managed to escape.
Modhuchandra had come to stay at his home in Thangmeiband Wathem Leirak from his designated camp in Bishnupur district when he was attacked.
Police said he was one of the insurgents who had laid down arms in July 2017 to lead a normal life.
No one has claimed responsibility for the killing.
