Los Angeles, July 7 : Country-pop singer Taylor Swift has finally dropped her latest album titled 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)', a re-recorded version of her 2010 album 'Speak Now'.
Now, thirteen years later, Swift has re-released "Speak Now" as "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" as part of her effort to regain control over her early catalog. This re-recording project was prompted by the sale of her original recordings by her former music manager, Scooter Braun. By re-recording her albums, Swift aims to assert ownership over her songs and their usage, reflecting the album's underlying theme of declaration and empowerment.
The original working title of the album was "Enchanted," derived from the power ballad of the same name. However, Scott Borchetta, the CEO of Big Machine Records, Swift's label president at the time, urged her to choose a more mature title as she was transitioning into her twenties. This transition becomes an intriguing framework for understanding "Speak Now." Written during her late teenage years and released when she turned 21, the album captures Swift's journey into adulthood, fame, and asserting herself as an artist.
