Mumbai, Dec 9 (TIWN) Actress Richa Chadha says women are still paid lesser than their male counterparts in the film business across the world despite all the talk on discrepancies.
Bollywood star Richa Chadha is 27 and arguably at the peak of her career with seven films set for release in India in 2016-2017. Yet despite her almost constant workload and critical acclaim for movies such as Gangs of Wasseypur parts 1 and 2 (in which her character aged from 16 to 60), Fukrey, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Masaan and Mira Nair’s Words with Gods, she still yearns for more. “ I want to do more films and be more acceptable to Indian audiences ,” she tells Forbes in an exclusive interview. “Even though I have done films that have been acclaimed by people such as Roger Ebert, Isabella Rossellini and Francis Ford Coppola, it doesn’t matter back home. I feel people are very much focused on who are the huge stars. If you are an actor’s son or daughter in India it is easier to be successful.”
