AGARTALA, June 6 (TIWN): A young aged mobile thief was caught by local mob on Saturday and beaten up at South Charilam, later he was handed over to Police.
The thief has been identified as Subrata Debbarma, S/o- Sachindra Debbarma, residing at Dharia Thal area under Charilam block. It is known 15 days ago Subrata stolen a MI phone worth Rs 14,000 from a tea shop, when the tea shop owner, Pintu Biswas went to serve tea in another shop by keeping his mobile on charge. With Subrata another man was there while he was committing the theft incident. Suddenly, today the young man in an intoxicated condition informed the mobile owner Pintu Biswas that Subrata had stolen his mobile.
Accordingly the mobile owner, Pintu Biswas went to Subrata’s house but the house owner could not find Subrata at his home. While the mobile owner, Pintu was returning he found Subrata in South Charilam Chowmuhani area, on being asked Subrata admitted that he had stolen the mobile and sold it to man, Mithu Natta at Rs 1,400. However, immediately the mobile owner met with Mithu, and he returned the mobile to the owner.
The locals arrested Subrata and informed the police, while the police rushed to the spot Subrata was handed over to the police. Sources said, Subrata used to take drugs, and his family is also fed-up due to his misdeeds.
