AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): In the midst of the onset of the monsoon, a terrible picture of a cracked railway bridge was captured in Journalists’ camera on Saturday morning. Water falling under the railway bridge from above like stream water, such a scene has been captured in North Sonaichari area, Belonia.
The alternative road from Belonia to North Sonaichhari was built two and half years ago by the railway company. This road remained in good condition for a year, but since then the railway bridge went into deplorable condition.
A part of the railway bridge is cracked and during the rainy season water is constantly falling like a stream under the bridge, as the cracked part of the railway bridge has been created, many people are getting frightened while moving under the bridge. Such a scene shows the Railway company had done poor quality work. As the bridge has remained in horrible condition for a long time but yet it is not repaired. It has been alleged the general public are paying compensation for the low quality work of the Railway company authorities. Local people, vehicle drivers, including pedestrians demanded that the railway bridge be repaired as soon as possible so that the vehicles including local peoples can move properly under the bridge.
Now it remains to be seen whether the authorities would take steps to repair the bridge or not.
