AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): The CPI-M Sadar Sub-Divisional Committee gave a deputation to the Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate with a 5-point demand. As the SDM was not in the office, they handed over their demand to the Additional SDM.
Their demands are, to provide free food items to the priority group families living in government-declared containment zones; All the families who are not covered by income tax have to pay Rs. 7500 in cash per month; The state government has to assist the families of daily wagers in the areas declared under curfew; In addition to food, edible oil, and other essentials should be provided from the ration shops.
They also demanded fixed prices by the government to stop the black market of medicines and necessary medical equipment to deal with the virus.
On 5 points demand, CPIM Sadar Sub-Divisional Committee representatives placed a deputation to Sadar SDM. But due to absence of Sadar SDM the deputation was placed to additional Sadar SDM.
1. To provide free food items to the families living in government declared containment zones.
2. All the families who are not falling under income tax have to provide 10 kg of free food per person and also have to pay Rs. 7500 per month.
3. The state government has to provide assistance to the daily wage earners and their families living in under curfew areas
4. To supply edible oils, pulses, ration shops food items and other essential products should be provided.
5. Also necessary administrative measures have to be taken to stop the black market to keep the supply of essential commodities and medical equipment in the market stable.
