Liquor sales fall 29% in Apr-Sep amid lockdown impact, high tax levies

New Delhi, Nov 10 (TIWN) Sale of Indian-made foreign liquor declined 29 per cent during the first half of the current financial year, according to data released by the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC).
In a statement, the industry body said that the fall in demand was severe in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Rajasthan, which still continue to impose corona tax as high as 50 per cent. In these states, sales dropped by almost 50 per cent.
