New Delhi, Jan 16 (TIWN) In a major announcement showing Amazon's support for Indian MSMEs, CEO Jeff Bezos on Wednesday said that the company would invest $1 billion in digitising small and medium businesses (SMBs) on its platform in the country.
Bezos, in a conversation with Amazon India Head Amit Agarwal, told that the investment will digitise Indian SMBs and will help them to export goods valuing over $10 Bn worldwide by 2025. “The 21st century is going to be India’s century,” Bezos predicted. Bezos, who is in India for the two-day flagship event, is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other government officials to ease out regulatory challenges in the country.
