Mumbai, Nov 28 (TIWN) Sensex and Nifty opened higher but gains were capped ahead of the GDP figures to be released on Friday.
The Sensex was up 64.70 points at 41,085.3. It touched an intra-day high of 41,163.79 and a low of 41,022.8.
The broader Nifty was up 23.65 points at 12,124.35.
Zee stocks fell over 2 per cent after two former directors -- Subodh Kumar and Neharika Vohra -- who resigned from its board, raised concerns over several issues, including Rs 2,200 crore film advance given in 2018-19, according to a regulatory filing by the firm.
UPL Limited, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers during the early trade.
On Wednesday, FPIs bought Rs 42.93 crore worth of stocks while domestic investors purchased Rs 439.51 crore worth of scrips.
