US stocks close higher amid fading recession fears

New York, Aug 17 (TIWN) US stocks closed higher, wrapping up the week in a positive note, as the market was mildly buoyed by easing US bond market and a batch of mixed economic data.
All of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors traded higher around market close, with the industrials sector up over 1.9 per cent, leading the gainers. All of the 30 blue-chip stocks in the Dow extended gains, with shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance and JPMorgan Chase up 2.41 per cent and over 2.40 per cent respectively, among the best performers.
