New Delhi, May 15 (TIWN): Vande Bharat Express: Big success for Indian Railways! The newly-launched Train 18, named Vande Bharat Express has surpassed the average speed of trains such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Gatiman Express. Interestingly, Vande Bharat Express is the first ever train to run between Delhi and Allahabad with an average speed of above 100 km per hour, according to an Amar Ujala report. The border for North Central Railway zone starts from the Chipiyana Buzurg village in the state of Uttar Pradesh, which falls after Ghaziabad.

According to the report, at present, the Vande Bharat Express runs between New Delhi and Allahabad at a speed of 102.79 km per hour. From Chipiyana Buzurg village area to Allahabad Junction railway station, the train boasts an average speed of 104 km per hour. While, in the North Railway zone, the train runs with an average speed of 76 km per hour. The new train takes around 6.08 hours to reach Allahabad from the national capital.

The same report claimed that the country’s first engine-less semi-high speed train, Vande Bharat Express, has created a record of being punctual on almost all days of service in the month of April. The train travelled between Delhi and Varanasi in just eight hours, setting a punctuality record of not being late on most days. The punctuality record of Vande Bharat Express comes at a time when Indian Railways faces criticism for delays in its train services.

Train number 22436/22435 Delhi-Varanasi-Delhi Vande Bharat Express leaves from the New Delhi railway station on every Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 6:00 AM to reach Varanasi at 2:00 PM. It departs the same day from Varanasi at 3:00 PM to reach New Delhi at 11:00 PM.

Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February, the Vande Bharat Express is a 16-coach fully air-conditioned train, consisting of executive as well as non-executive chair car coaches. The self-propelled train boasts several modern features including aircraft-like diffused lighting, European-style comfortable seats, rotating seats in the executive chair car coaches, mini pantry, automatic temperature control system, modular bio-vacuum toilets, disabled-friendly toilets, automatic doors with sliding footsteps and wheelchair parking spaces among others.
