Tripura Municipal Election begins at 7 a | AGARTALA, Dec 27 (TIWN): After Assembly Election, Tripura is undergoing 2nd by-election with Municipal's Election today and the result will be declared on the next day i.e. Friday. For total 67 seats including 4 seats of Agartala Municipal Council, the election has been started. Total numbers of candidates are 174. Out of 174, 67 candidates are from BJP, CPI-M 53 and Congress 49 and two independent candidates submitted nominations. Total 84,608 voters are scheduled to cast votes across booths. Heavy security arrangements have been done to conduct a peaceful election. The election earlier was scheduled to be conducted on December 22, but State Election Commission without any all party meeting postponed the election for December 2, which triggered much controversy. Various attacks are being taken place against oppositions and role of police remained so far unsatisfactory. Tripura is undergoing Municipal Election for 67 seats. Out of 230 seats total 158 seats have left vacant under various Municipal Offices, but 91 seats BJP has occupied without contest, forcing opposition not to submit or withdraw nominations.Many candidates were bound to withdraw nominations after submission out of ruling BJP led goons attacks. Tripura to undergo Municipal Election on | AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): After Assembly Election, Tripura to undergo Municipal Election tomorrow and the result will be declared on the next day i.e. Friday. The election earlier was scheduled to be conducted on December 22, but State Election Commission without any all party meeting postponed the election for December 2, which triggered much controversy. Various attacks are being taken place against oppositions and role of police remained so far unsatisfactory. However, amid all allegations when BJP forced maximum candidates of opposition to withdraw nominations, Tripura will undergo Municipal Election for 68 seats. Out of 230 seats total 158 seats have left vacant under various Municipal Offices, but 91 seats BJP has occupied without contest, forcing opposition not to submit or withdraw nominations. Election Commission G K Roy said, "49 seats in Agartala, 11 in Jirania and 13 seats in Ranir Bazar Municipality 13 left vacant due to the councilors resignations. At the same time, 15 at Kailashahar, 13 at Kumarghat, Udaipur 21, Panisagar 11, Kamalpur 11, Khowai 15, Teliamura 15, Belonia 15, Santir Bazar 13, Bishalgrah 15, Melaghar 13 total 230 seats are there and out of them 180 have left vacant. Tripura Municipal Election on Thursday, | AGARTALA, Dec 26 (TIWN): One day ahead of Municipal Election, statewide attacks upon opposition parties are continuing with break. At Kamalpur CPI-M supporter Shankar Das’s family was severely attacked by BJP miscreants on Tuesday latenight, whereas at West Noabari’s Lanka Para CPI-M activist Pintu Das’s home was not only attacked but his wife and daughter’s gold earings, bangles were snatched. His old parents were injured in the attack and like previous incidents this time also no arrest was done of the miscreants. Puppet role of Tripura Police has hit the law and order of the state across and now after attacking CPI-M leaders, the BJP has targeted the CPI-M families to stop them from going to the booths in this upcoming poll on tomorrow. In 2019 due to election first 3 months almost Govt depts left without recruitment but after the election since March to now December no recruitment except few in Tripura schools were done and for that reason, Education dept was showcaused by Finance Dept why recruitments were done. Tripura Poll Violence : Organized violen | BELONIA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Continuous attacks on the opposition parties have been continuing in Tripura, whereas one more CPI-M leader was attacked along with his wife. At Belonia today around 11 am, CPI-M’s farmer wing leader Bhuban Pal and his wife were attacked when they were going somewhere from the house. As soon as they came out of their house, a group of BJP miscreants led by BJP leader Jagadish Pal attacked him in front of his wife, When his wife went to save him, she was also attacked. Bhupan Pal was taken to primary hospital as his nose was bleeding. Local CPI-M has demanded proper action against the miscreants. Belonia is right now suffering from continuous attacks and each incident is going without any action. On December 13, one Krishna Shil’s house was brutally attacked by BJP goons and they further burnt their house. In the fire their cows were killed and many cows had left injured. Challenging the constitutionality and legality of the Centres order empowering central agencies and the Delhi Police to snoop on all computers, a public interest litigation (PIL) was filed before the Supreme Court on Monday seeking quashing of the December 20 order. The order by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) authorised 10 central agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as well as the Delhi Police to "intercept, monitor and decrypt any information generated, transmitted, received or stored in any computer".Filed by advocate M.L. Tripura Youth commits suicide after Poli | AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Tension has brewed, resentments erupted after one 23 years youth Pritam Debbarma committed suicide after he was allegedly beaten, harassed in police station. Allegation is, when Pritam was in his residence at Baijol area, police rushed to his house accusing Pritam was taking drugs along with friends, when his parents were not at home. He was taken by police, without any prior notice in their hands and pushed him in lockup. For whole evening he was harassed, abused with bad-language and beaten. When injured Pritam retuned in his house (at 9 pm), he told everything to his parents and area’s people and parents gave him support, but soon his body was found hanging in his room. Pritam committed suicide out of insult. Deceased Pritam's uncle Sudhir Debbarma has lodged an FIR against 4 police officials including Baijol outpost for torturing Pritam, but so far no action was taken against any of the police officials.
