AGARTALA, July 18 (TIWN): With the aim to celebrate the golden jubilee year of Tripura Athletics Association, Sports Minister Shahid Chowdhury on Monday held a meeting with the members of sports department at City centre conference hall.

The Tripura Athletics Association is the Association consisting of District Athletics Associations. The Tripura Athletics Association is a State Sport Association with the non-Profit making purposes of State interest having legal Personality Pursuant to the relevant laws in the State.

Only the districts Athletics Associations of Tripura state affiliated with the State body that is Tripura Athletics Association are entitled to organize district Athletics championships with in their district limits and they can conduct State Athletics championships, Inter district Athletics championships as and when it is allotted to them by the State Body.

No individual private clubs or any Trust are not permitted to organize any Athletics meet within the jurisdiction of Tripura state without the proper and due permission from the State Body. Tripura Athletics Association affiliated with Athletics Federation of India followed by Tripura State Olympic Association.
