AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): Demanding 10kg rice per head free of cost for the people of ADC areas under the food security act, Tripura People party on Monday staged rally at Agartala. The rally began from Press club in the name of raj Bhawan Abhiyan.
Staging the rally the members of the Tripura people party further stated that it is not possible for the people of ADC villagers and labourers to arrange their meal as they don’t have sufficient income to feed themselves.
Only 5 KG allotted for these people who can be carried out only for 10 days and the rest of the 20 days of the month they starve for food. However, demanding at least 10kg rice for free for these people of the ADC areas the Tripura people’s party on Monday staged rally in the state.
They further demanded to announce ADC areas as food crisis zone.
The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is an independent council administering the tribal areas of the state of Tripura, India. Its council and assembly are situated in Khumulwng, a town 26 km away from Agartala, the state capital.
In the 2005 elections to the TTAADC the Left Front won 24 seats out of the 28 elected seats and the National Socialist Party of Tripura four. The Left Front and NSPT had contested within the framework of an electoral understanding
