AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): Despite of taking several initiatives by the Central Govt to develop skillsl of unemployed in state in crafting Bamboo products, it seems that State Govt is least bothered on issue of declining bamboo cultivation.
Rubber cultivation altogether is damaging Tripura’s natural environment alongwith the soil.
However, the former Union Minister of state for Textiles (Independent charge) , Santosh Kumar Gangwar unveiled the inaugural Stone for Hostel of the Trainees of Bamboo and Cane Development Institute Lichubagan Agartala on April 9—where unemployed are expected to be trained for upgrading of bamboo plants here in Tripura.
But the bamboo plantation business almost breathing last due to apathy of State Govt.
So doubts remain whether the youths earn their livelihood by these trainings? However, it’s to be mentioned here that the bamboo plantation has become a by-gone era in state Tripura. In this regard govt.’s special focus is missing however.
